Day 15: Obstacle course, Saying I'm Sorry, & Sunshine

SELF-CARE TIP: Outdoor time is not just for your children! Enjoy the sunshine, breathe in the fresh air. We are all made to be in nature. Let it revitalize you :)

PARENTING TIP: if you have made mistakes during this time (who hasn’t?) with your children it’s ok. We are all human. Don’t just feel guilty, model for your child that it’s ok to make mistakes, own them! Tell your child, “I made a mistake today. I was feeling frustrated and I yelled at you. It’s not ok to yell and I want to say I’m sorry.”

NATURE LOCATION: It looks like we are being asked to stick closer to home these days. What a better time then now to explore your neighborhood. Take a walk down the street, or around your block. No need to have an agenda just follow your child’s lead, trust me they will have plenty to show you!! If you need a little more guidance, go on a rock, stick or leaf hunt.

INDOOR ACTIVITY: Make an obstacle course in your house. Add as many gross motor challenges as possible. We like to remove the pillows from the couches and cover then with a sheet. The unpredictable terrain lends itself to a barrel of laughs and added bonus this type of sensory input is great for our children’s brain development!
