Going Back to Work After having a Baby:

How to Handle the Transition

Going back to work after having a baby is an enormous transition, and it’s normal for it to bring up a mix of emotions. You might dread returning to work but feel like you have no choice, or maybe you’re excited to return to a career that was an important part of your life and identity before the baby. You might be excited to have a break from the routine of feeding and diaper changes and nap schedules or feel devastated at the idea of missing out on daily moments with your baby – or all of the above! Returning to work brings up profound questions about what matters most to you as well as tactical questions and decisions about how to manage your time and energy, set boundaries, and get the help you need.

In this workshop, we’ll cover:
·      How to get clear about your values so you can make decisions that are in alignment with who you are and what matters most to you
·      Concrete strategies for setting boundaries so you can honor those values
·      Simple tools for managing your time and energy so you can make a plan and return to work with more ease
·      A new way of thinking about self-care

This class will be taught by certified life coach Julie Houghton.  Julie is a certified life and career coach. She has her BA in English from the College of William and Mary and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
