SELF-CARE TIP: How was the weekend? If you're like us, you're probably feeling a mix of exhausted, guilt, and some genuine gratitude. Write your future self a letter. Talk to yourself about your joys, your fears, your new daily routine now, and the things you are grateful for as well as your hopes for the coming months. It's a good exercise to flex those gratitude muscles and will be a miniature time capsule to read later - this is definitely going to be a future history lesson for our children as well.
PARENTING TIP:
Pop-up attention time! Stop right now and give your child 10 minutes of your undivided attention and floor time. If they are asleep, hold them for ten minutes when they wake up or give them the attention then. Set a timer if you need to. See what happens! Then come back and finish reading these tips. 🙂
NATURE LOCATION SUGGESTION:
Andy Goldsworthy Spire and the Presidio Woodline
INDOOR ACTIVITY:
Family disco dance party! Dig out some costumes from the back of the closet and put on the silliest ones you can find and have a dance party together. I've found that we all look forward to this in the evening and it helps get the energy, "sillies," and stress out. Our favorite song to listen to is "We are family!" I'm hoping this is what sticks in their memories as what went on during this time - that we all tried to have fun!
