Day 52: Outdoor music, Cornstarch magic, Leaving the House Take 2, & Frozen Food

SELF-LOVE:
Buy frozen food and don’t save it for the apocalypse. I was never one to buy much frozen food but lately I've been trying to find any way possible to give myself a break. When that moment comes where I really don't feel like cooking, but it's too late to order take-out, it's like a small little miracle.

PARENTING TIP:
LEAVING THE HOUSE TAKE 2: Create a plan with your child about where they would like to go for their outdoor time over the next several days. Write down the ideas under the days of the week. One day might be a scooter ride, the next might be a bug hunt, the next day might be to a nature area. Children are much more agreeable to a plan that they have decided upon in a moment of calm, rather than catching them in the heat of the moment.

INDOOR ACTIVITY:
Sensory/Science: Cornstarch and Water. A little less water than cornstarch. Add food coloring if you want, and our favorite additions- cars or trucks to get stuck in the "muck." The best part? The cornstarch and water leaves zero residue and is almost satisfying to clean up! The science component-transformation from liquid to solid and back to solid-is fascinating for young children!

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY:
Outdoor music or garage band! Find toys or objects around your house and see how many you and your child can make music with. Sticks make perfect drums on buckets.Rocks make great noises in tin cans. You'll be surprised what you find.
