SELF-LOVE: Take a break from your phone. Maybe it’s for 30 minutes, Maybe it’s for a couple hours. Physically turn it off or hide it in a drawer-I almost immediately feel a weightlessness about me, and like I have so much more freedom and agency in how I use my time. I’m starting to get used to this feeling and find myself doing it more and more these days.
PARENTING TIP: Help your child build self reflection skills into their day, especially with all the changes they are facing right now. Teacher Alexis shares this great idea below: As part of your bedtime routine (children are so much more reflective while lying in bed!) ask your child one thing that made them feel proud and one thing that felt tricky. Try not to help them process their tricky part, just listen and empathize, “Wow. That does sound tricky.”
INDOOR ACTIVITY: Trace your child/children's out line and help them color in their paper person. You can also let them trace you. It's so much fun to draw jewelry and even cut out your paper family to hang up.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY: Jumping/stomping/dancing painting. Roll out a log roll of paper or cut cardboard from delivery boxes. Help your children paint their feet or have a pan to dip them in. This one is messy, but we guarantee it'll bring smiles!
